The Tire Recycle Urban Athlete of the Week is Amber Schneider of the Stonewall Rams cross country team.

This 5’4” runner placed second at the WWAC races in Labarriere Park and Crescent Drive, and placed first at the Milk Run and Zone 5 Championships. She capped off her season with a second place finish at the Provincial Cross Country Championships. Coach Randy Gabel states, “Amber is an outstanding runner both short and long distance. She leads by example and has been a positive influence on our new grade 9 runners that began this year. She is dedicated to the sport even though she is heavily involved in other athletic activities and comes to all morning practices. Her attitude towards running is all business and her efforts and ability display this in her accomplishments.”

This grade 10 student maintains an 85% average, while also participating in fastpitch and track & field.
