Carter Hildebrand

Mennonite Coll. (AA)

Sports: Volleyball

The Powerland Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Carter Hildebrand of the Mennonite Collegiate Blues volleyball team in Gretna.

This 5’10” left side has led the Blues to back to back weekend volleyball championships, first in Killarney then at their home tournament.  He leads the team in attacks and digs every game.  Coach Toby Wiens states, “Both on the court and off the court Carter leads by example, showing humility, respect and sportsmanship. He is a great ambassador for the school through sports, academics and arts. Carter is the hardest working guy in practices and will take time with his setter before and after practices to work on their timing for hitting. He encourages our younger players and always recognizes their contributions from the bench during games.”

In grade 12, he maintains a 95% academic average, while also participating in soccer, basketball and baseball.
