Emily Potter of the Glenlawn Lions Basketball team is this week’s Home Run Sports Urban High School athlete of the week. This 6’5” centre was the MVP of the River East, St. Vital, and Sisler tournaments, while also earning all-star recognition at the Pembina Trails tournament. She is averaging 26 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals, and 2 blocks per game this year. She also set the school’s single game record this year with 46 points. Coach Bryan Kornberger states, “Emily leads by example and has a tremendous will to win. She has dedicated so much of her time and effort to being the best she can be, and is so encouraging to all of her teammates”. In grade 12, she maintains an average of 86% and also competes in volleyball.
