Manitoba's Credit Unions Scholar Athlete

Teryl Sansom of Erickson Collegiate participates in volleyball, curling, badminton, and track & field.  She was co-captain of her volleyball team and participated in the badminton provincials.  She maintains a 96.7% academic average and is on the Gold Honour Roll.  Teryl scored 99% on Provincial ELA exam and is a candidate for the Governor General’s bronze medal, as well as having been offered entrance scholarships at both the University of Alberta and the University of Manitoba.

Teryl states, “High School sports have been an integral part of the last four years of my life, teaching me about teamwork, sportsmanship, pride, leadership and commitment ….Competition occurs in all aspects of life, and sports have prepared me to deal with all possible outcomes of such competition.  I have learned life lessons, and have the skills to stay physically fit for the rest of my life.  Without high school sports, I would not be the same individual I am today.”
