Manitoba's Credit Unions Scholar Athlete

Ashley Morris of John Taylor Collegiate participates in cross-country running, volleyball, basketball, badminton, handball and track & field.  She was captain of the varsity volleyball and basketball teams and was selected as an all-star at a number of tournaments in both sports.  She has an 88 % average.  She was chosen as a graduating all-star in both volleyball and basketball this year, and was selected Most Valuable Player at the “AAAA” Basketball Provincials which her school captured. 

Ashley states, “Athletics are an essential part of a well rounded high school education.  They prepare you for life in ways that the classroom cannot.  Commitment, leadership and motivation are just some of the skills that athletes develop while participating in high school sport……the feeling you get after achieving a personal best or winning a championship is what pushes me to work harder.  Athletes understand that success requires hard work and are willing put in the effort to experience that success.”
