Kara Laura Menzies of Neepawa Area Collegiate participates on the senior girl's soccer team, volleyball team, basketball team and track team.  She was selected an all-star at the rural provincial soccer championships, AAA Provincial Volleyball Championships as well as selected as a graduating all-star in basketball.  She was also selected as a Brandon Sun Athlete of the Week.  Kara maintains a 94% average and is on the Principals Honor Role, Drugs and Alcohol Awareness Committee, Literative Contest local and provincial winner.  She sits on the student council, grad committee, drama productions, concert band, jazz band, and advertising committee.  She is involved with the United Church choir and volunteers at Music for Young Children local theatre, and participates in local beach volleyball tournaments.  Kara states "… scholastic sports help build a sense of school spirit for our school.  Sports can bring students together to help support a team, which can give a sense of unity in the student body… sports have also taught me the meaning of dedication and determination.  Only if you are dedicated to what you do, will you find success and that is exactly what I have learned from playing sports… sports builds character and unity in a school and help build a strong personality in the athletes."
