Morris School's Tyra Dickson is a 95% honor roll student and was selected most valuable player at the Provincial "AA" Volleyball Championships and recognized with the Mike Burchuk Award as the most outstanding female volleyball player in Manitoba.  Her team captured the 2000 Provincial "AA" Championships and as well she was ninth in the Cross Country Provincials.  Tyra participates in volleyball, soccer, badminton, baseball, curling and track.  She is student council vice-president and plays on a variety of school bands, while also taking time to participate in the drama club, yearbook and grad committee.  She has volunteered at a number of community events and states that…."High school sport is so important because it builds strong healthy people.  Aside from the physical benefits, high school sport provides mental and emotional benefits.  Athletes must learn how to work with other people, such as teammates towards a common goal……High school sport is especially important because it motivates many students to participate in a variety of activities and strive to achieve their best."
