Manitoba's Credit Unions Scholar Athlete

Malissa Lundgren of St. John's Ravenscourt School.  Malissa participates in basketball, volleyball, hockey, soccer and badminton and maintains a 91% average while taking five Advanced Placement courses.  Malissa was captain of the varsity soccer, basketball, and volleyball teams, and was selected to participate in the graduating all-star game for basketball and hockey.  She also received a BEST basketball scholarship.  Malissa was also a member of the school dance committee, graduation committee, and community service committee and runs in the morning track club.  She also referees grade 7, 8, and 9 basketball and volleyball games and is a member of the Manitoba Junior Provincial Basketball team.  Malissa states…."Sports have allowed me to find myself and have increased my self confidence….I feel I cannot adequately explain how important high school sports have been to me, but I know that without them I would not be the person I am today…".
