Kimon Issigonis

Kimon Issigonis of Vincent Massey High School in Brandon maintains a 92% academic average while also participating in volleyball, soccer, badminton, and track & field. He received the University of Guelph's President Scholarship and was chosen to represent Manitoba at the 1999 UN Youth forum in New York. Kimon was an all-star at the Steinbach volleyball tournament and received Play of the Game honors at the Provincials. He also won two badminton doubles championships. Kimon is the President of the Student Council, had a lead role in the school drama production, is a member of T.A.D.D., a certified referee, reporter for the school newspaper, and co-founder of the school physics club. Outside of school he attended Manitoba ALIVE Youth Volunteer Conference and Brandon Youth City Council Meetings. Kimon states, "Athletics has been an introduction to the world of competition, from the thrill of victory to the pain of defeat.
