Manitoba's Credit Unions Scholar Athlete

Trisha Paseska of Westwood Collegiate was a graduating all-star in both volleyball and basketball.  Trisha received all-star recognition at the St. Norbert and Portage basketball tournaments.  In volleyball, she received all-stars at Garden Valley, Virden and the Provincial "AAA" Championships.  She also competed in soccer and badminton.  Trisha maintains an academic average of 90%, and was the recipient of a McDonald's BEST Scholarship, Special Entrance Scholarship for the University of Winnipeg and the President's Award of Merit from the University of Winnipeg.  Trisha plays first flute in the school band, is a member of the schools Decoration Committee, canvasses for the Salvation Army, and helps coach at a local middle years school.  Trisha states, "Athletics kept me from boredom and kept my interest in school because each day I looked forward to what was next….It has given me many skills to which I've learned to use now and will need in the future….but one of the most important things I feel I've gained from high school athletics are the memories, I will never lose those."
