Jared Wesley of Minnedosa Collegiate was captain of both the varsity soccer, and volleyball team, was a goaltender for the hockey team and also participated in badminton.  Jared maintains a 96% average and was the recipient of two high school hockey awards, the "Friar Nicolson Award" for outstanding leadership and performance in high school hockey and the "D'Arcy Bain/Fred Stevenson Award" for the outstanding high school hockey player in the province.  Jared is also a member of the student council, of which he is President, a member of the school's peer counseling group, newspaper club, video yearbook club, a supporting actor in the drama club and a member of the senior band.  Jared states, "Sport teaches all of its participants many "Sport teaches all of its participants many valuable lessons, the concept of teamwork is an important part of tomorrow's work world.  Cooperative learning, group projects, and team building exercises taught in classrooms combined with good coaching in high school sports give all athletes a good head start on the current trend…..High school sport has acted like a classroom for its athletes, where it has nurtured, taught, and given them experience to cope with similar harsh realities in real life".
