Manitoba's Credit Unions Scholar Athlete
Stephen Paul of Elmwood High School is a member of the volleyball, basketball, soccer, and track & field teams. He was captain of the volleyball team, which for the first time made it to the provincials. He has been selected as player of the game in boy's basketball and was co-captain of the soccer team as well. Stephen maintains a 95% average and is a member of the yearbook, grad committee, fashion show, and participates in intra-murals as well. Stephen has also been a part of the encounters with Canada Program at the Terry Fox Centre in Ottawa and taken part in the science and technology forum at the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature. Stephen states, "Athletics have taught me to strive and be a leader both in and out of sports. It has taught me to help others and cherish all the wonderful memories. It has taught me to learn from my mistakes and strive to do better the next time around….Athletics plays an important role in the lives of many student athletes around the world and they provide an opportunity for all students to take part in something that is truly memorable and that will enhance their lives forever.
