Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Tire Recycle Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Caitlin Fennell of the R.D. Parker Trojans basketball team in Thompson.

This 5’10” forward/post averages 15 points a games and 10 rebounds. She has received all-star awards at the BU, Sanford, and RD Parker South Comes North Tourney, helping her team to several tournament wins including the zone 11 championship tournament this past weekend. Coach Sara Gillis states, “Caitlin is always ready to play basketball! She loves the games and it shows when she is practicing and playing games. There is never a time when she does not want to play and her passionate and assertive play shows her love for the sport. She is a pretty feisty player who hates to loose and I think most teams brace themselves for her presence on the court...I bet they wished she was on their team ...I'm certainly glad she is on ours!”

This Grade 11 student maintains an 82% average, while also participating in volleyball, badminton, and soccer.
