Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Tire Recycle Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Nikki Jeanson of the Carman Cougars Badminton team.

This 5’5” mixed doubles player and partner started off the badminton season undefeated, winning both the Northlands Parkway and Carman badminton tournaments.  Coach James Ballantyne states, “I have been coaching Nikki for the past four years and she is an athlete who jumps right in to every sport she's involved with. She shows great dedication and is a model athlete in terms of work ethic and putting in time to improve her skills. This badminton season Nikki is displaying consistent serving, excellent quickness and the ability to put away birds at the net that are making her team tough to beat. She is a great teammate and a pleasure to coach.”

This Grade 12 student maintains an 80% average, while also participating in volleyball, basketball, cross country, and Fastpitch.
