Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Tire Recycle Urban Athletes of the Week is Emily Smith of the Portage Saints Fastpitch team.

This 5’6” pitcher and third baseman, has pitched two shutout games giving up 5 hits and striking out 15.  She has batted .615 with 2 doubles and a home run, while batting in 9 runs and scoring 8 times herself.  Coach Cam Asham states, “Emily has a real passion for softball. Her high skill level and great attitude make her an ideal player to coach. She is great team player and shows a lot of leadership both on and off the field."

This grade 11 student maintains an 89% average.
