Seth Friesen of Vincent Massey High School (Brandon) – participated in Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer and Track and Field.  He was captain of his Volleyball team, and was ranked third in the Winnipeg Sun Coaches Poll.  He was chosen as a Volleyball Manitoba Graduating  All-Star, and was named to the Volleyball Manitoba All-Manitoba Team. He was awarded the Dr. Dale Iwanoczko Volleyball Scholarship and played in the Basketball Manitoba Graduating All Star game.  He is a member of the schools Peer Tutoring team, and is on the Grad Organizing committee,  assistant Freshman Volleyball and Basketball Coach and Junior Varsity Assistant Basketball coach.  He studies piano and has won the Jean MacKinnon Piano Scholarship along with the Eckhardt-Gramatte Conservatory of Music Scholarship and is involved as an active member of his church all while maintaining  an academic average of 99.86%.

Seth states:  “High school athletics have played an important role in shaping me as a person.  They have taught me the importance of sportsmanship, commitment, and working together as a team to achieve a common goal.  Aside from competition, being involved in multiple sports while maintaining a high academic standing has taught me the value of hard work and time management.  I have formed positive relationships with people both in school and across the province, and I expect that these relationships and the values my coaches have instilled in me will last a lifetime.”
