Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Tire Recycle Urban Athlete of the Week is Kyia Giles of the Sisler Spartans basketball team.

This 5’7” guard helped lead the Spartans to the MILK Provincial “AAAA” Basketball Championship, where she was named a tournament all-star, while putting up 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists in the final.  Earlier in the year she also was named an all-star at the Garden City, Pembina Trails, Sisler, Campbell, and Miles Macdonell tournaments, while earning MVP at the North South Showdown.  Coach Michael Tan states, “Kyia is probably one of the most gifted athletes that I've come across and her natural athletic ability has propelled her to excel at basketball.  She is one of the best defenders in the Province and she has gotten better every year.  She is a gym rat and spends countless hours in the gym”.

In grade 12, she also participates in Rugby and track & field.
