Lana Mackic

Lana Mackic of Miles Macdonell Collegiate – participates in basketball, cross country, track, and badminton all while holding an academic average of 98%. She was captain of her basketball team, recognized as the fourth best basketball player in the province, was athlete of the week, and received the Carl Ridd Award. She is a member of the school’s student council and has helped coach Spring League Training and Coached at the Edge and Anishinabe basketball camps.
Lana states: “One of the most important lessons that sports teaches is time management. Time management is a skill I will take with me to University. Sport also helps teenagers become motivated and determined individuals. I have learned that to reach a goal you need to persevere and work hard.”
