Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Tire Recycle Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Hannah Van Schie of the Glenboro Panthers volleyball team.

This 5’9” middle led the Panthers to the semi-finals of the Hamiota tournament and to the championship in the MacGregor tournament. She leads the team in kills, and is an all-around strong athlete. Coaches Karen Kirk and Angie Gudnason state, “Hannah is such a hard-working athlete. She always brings 100% to the gym, no matter if it is a game or a practice. Hannah's love of volleyball doesn't end with her varsity experience. She has helped coach middle years programs, has also done some officiating, and can often be seen in the gym trying to improve her game. If she is ever asked to help out in any way, she always does, with a smile on her face. She is definitely an inspirational player to younger kids in the community and to new athletes on her team”.

This grade 12 student maintains an 86% academic average, while also competing in fastpitch, basketball, badminton, and track & field.
