Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Tire Recycle Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Kristen Brewer of the Westpark Royals basketball team in Portage.

This 5’6” forward & post has lead her Varsity team to a third place finish at the Portage Collegiate Tournament and a second place finish at the Westpark home tournament.  Coach Brian Brewer states, “Kristen brings enthusiasm and passion to the court which her teammates feed off of.  She is a tenacious defender and rebounder.  She is our defensive leader who sets the tone for our team at both ends of the court. She is also a capable low post scorer who we count on for tough points on the inside.”

This grade 11 student maintains an 80% academic average, while also participating in volleyball and soccer.
