Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Tire Recycle Urban Athlete of the Week is Niyah Becker of the Vincent Massey Trojans basketball team.

This 6’0” forward was an all-star in the St Vital and Sisler Tournament, and MVP at the Sturgeon Heights HIT Tournament, where she was instrumental in leading the Trojans to the championship. She averages 11 rebounds, 20 points, 4 steals and 2 blocks per game. Coach Stacy Hawash states, “Niyah is a dominant force on the court that can take over a game. A great leader on the court. She is a game changer - on both the defensive and offensive end. With her basketball knowledge and skill set Niyah is one of the top basketball players in Manitoba.”

In grade 11, she maintains an 88% academic average, while also participating in track & field.
