Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Tire Recycle Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Carlene Waldner of the Rosenort Redhawks basketball team.

This 5’7” power forward is averaging 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks on the season. She recently led her team to a key victory in the 'A' Provincial Qualifying Tournament in Sprague this last weekend. She put up 34 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists, helping her team advance to the Provincials. Coach Jared Dueck states, “Carlene has a passion for the game. She is dedicated to the sport and works extremely hard every practice, striving to become the best player possible. She has worked hard to become a threat to score from every spot on the court and is a dominant force on defense as well.

This grade 11 student maintains a 90% academic average, while also participating in volleyball and badminton.
