The Tire Recycle Rural High School Athletes of the Week are Danielle Vermette & Kaylee Dixon of the St. Jean-Baptiste Saints badminton team.

The 5’2” Vermette and 5’5” Dixon got first place in the St. Jean-Baptiste, Mennonite Collegiate/W.C. Miller, and Carman Tournaments in girls doubles.  Coach Sheldon Bouchard states, “There are a number of factors that contribute to the success of Danielle and Kaylee on the badminton court. They are good athletes who participate at a high level in a number of other sports. They demonstrate not only a positive attitude, but an attitude of "growth" - the willingness to adapt and change to get better. I believe perseverance may be one of their greatest strengths. They are not just good players but outstanding people.”

In grade 12, Vermette maintains an 88%, while Dixon has an 80% academic average. Both also participate in volleyball.
