Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Powerland Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Makenzie McCallum of the Morden Thunder soccer team.

This 5’9” striker has led the Thunder to an 8-0 record, with 20 goals in those 8 games.  She also helped them win the Garden Valley Tournament where she scored 8 goals.  Coach Claes Aschberg states, “Makenzie has unbelievable speed and is able to break through any defense. She is strong on the ball and uses her quick feet to put her in a scoring position almost any time she touches the ball”.

In grade 11, she maintains a 96% academic average, while also participating in fastpitch, basketball, hockey, cross country, and track & field.
