Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Powerland Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Carter Friesen of the Westpark Royals volleyball team from Portage.

This 5’8” left side has helped lead his team to first place in Zone 4 play and a second place finish at the MacGregor tournament.  Coach Merrill Friesen states, “Carter brings a high level of enthusiasm and intensity to both games and practices.  He is a tremendous leader who leads by example and makes those around him better.”

In grade 12, he maintains an 88% academic average, while also participating in basketball, and soccer.
