Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Powerland Urban High School Athletes of the Week are Gabrielle Legaspi and Gurveer Sran of the Maples Marauders badminton team.

The 5’0” Legaspi and 5’9” Sran placed first in coed doubles at the Maples Invitational Badminton tournament.  Coach Jennifer Humeny states, “Gaby and Gurveer both have an excellent work ethic on and off the court. Gaby is small in stature but has an incredible intensity level. Gurveer has badminton intelligence that is unmatched by anyone within our program. They both have an advanced skill set which makes them such an exciting team to watch"

Both in Grade 12, Legaspi maintains a 95% academic average, while Gurveer has an 80% average.
