Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Powerland Rural High School Athletes of the Week are Brandi Bergsma and Levi Gunnink of the Dufferin Christian Stingers badminton team.

This mixed doubles duo have finished first at the Carman/Dufferin Christian and Garden Valley Invitationals, 2nd at the Northlands Parkway tournament and 3rd at the Louis Riel tournament.  Coach Justin Raap states, “Brandi and Levi exemplify what it is to be badminton players, playing with a tremendous amount of game sense and precision, while demonstrating a high level of respect for their opponents, displaying class and sportsmanship. This also makes them excellent leaders for the younger players on the team”. 

These Grade 11 students maintain a 90% academic average, while both also participate in volleyball and soccer.
