Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Powerland Urban High School Athlete of the Week is Tiffany Tantakoun of the Fort Richmond Centurions badminton team.

The 5’5” singles player won the Louis Riel tournament and West Winnipeg Championship, enroute to claiming the Provincial Girls Singles Badminton Championship for a third consecutive year.  Her gold medal at provincials helped the Centurions secure the Team Aggregate Championships as well.  Coach Raman Sharma states, “Tiffany Tantakoun has shown tremendous leadership and athleticism throughout her 3 years as member of the FRC Badminton Team.  Tiffany shows commitment and leadership to the team and her teammates! She is not only a phenomenal player but also a role model and teacher for the others. She consistently shares her knowledge and expertise to every practice and is eager to help her teammates improve. This has helped our athletes and been a key component to the growth of the Fort Richmond Collegiate Badminton program”. 

In Grade 12, she maintains a 93% academic average, while also participating in volleyball.
