Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Powerland Rural High School Athletes of the Week are David Muller & Coral Zamzow of the Swan Valley Tigers badminton team.

This doubles duo of the 6’1” Muller and 5’6” Zamzow were 30-0 on the season claiming the mixed doubles titles at the Gimli tournament, Zone 8 sectionals, Zone 8 championships, and Provincial Badminton Championships. Coach Larry Kooistra states, “David and Coral are multi-sport athletes who have represented our badminton program at four MHSAA provincials. David and Coral have always demonstrated the sportsmanship, commitment, and leadership that our program is proud of. At the start of the season they set high goals of a provincial medal and proceeded to go undefeated with a 30-0 record in high school play on their way to earning the MHSAA provincial gold medal. They are the second pair to ever win the provincial title from SVRSS and I couldn’t be happier for them.”

Both in grade 12, Zamzow maintains an 85% academic average while also participating in golf and curling.  Muller maintain a 90% academic average, while also participating in volleyball and basketball.
