Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Powerland Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Amber Schneider of the Stonewall Rams fast pitch and track & field teams.

This 5’4” fast pitch and track athlete helped lead the Rams fast pitch team to a Provincial Championships where she was named MVP.   She followed that up a week later at the MILK Provincial Track & Field Championships where she earned silver medals in the 400m and 800m events, while also anchoring the Rams 4 x 400m relay team to a bronze medal. Coach Christy Steeves states, “Amber embodies the athlete every coach wants.  She is dedicated to her team, she has an excellent attitude, always positive and supportive towards her team mates and coaches.  Amber is always focused on bettering her performances each time she gets on the court, field or on the track.  Her work-ethic and determination is matched by none.”

In grade 12, she maintains an 82% academic average, while also participating in volleyball, cross country, and basketball.
