Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Urban High School Athletes of the is Erik Wiebe of the Miles Macdonell Buckeyes volleyball & cross country team.

Captain of the Buckeyes, he led the volleyball team to the final of the Seven Oaks Invitational.  In cross country he finished 4th in the first KPAC meet.  Coach Tim Au states, “Erik is a huge part of our team, his leadership on and off the court is well respected. He provides positive and specific feedback as a member of the coaching staff will do, and all his teammates are very receptive to Erik helping them learn the game. Erik is one of those special athletes who is not only athletically gifted, makes others around him better, and is an overall great citizen.”

In grade 12, he maintains a 90% academic average, while also participating in cross country, ultimate, track and badminton.
