Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Mackenzie Zatylny of the Gilbert Plains Trojans Volleyball Team

This left side player has helped lead the Trojan girls volleyball team to a 1st place finish in Rivers tourney, and 3rd place finishes in their home tourney, Goose Lake tournament and Killarney tournament. In the Killarney tournament, Mackenzie averaged 23 kills and 7 service aces per match. Coach Daniel Lehmann states, "Mackenzie has developed into a tremendous volleyball player, and one of the main reasons for Gilbert Plains success early this season. She is one of the quiet leaders on a team of very skilled players."

In grade 11, she also participates in badminto and track & field.
