Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Rainey Fingas of the Major Pratt Trojans volleyball team in Russell.

Rainey is the team’s varsity setter and captain of her team. Her hard work and determination help lead the Lady Trojans to a 2nd place finish in Gilbert Plains and Roblin tournaments and 3rd place finish in their home tourney. In the Roblin tournament, Rainey earned 120 assists 8 service aces. Coach Suzy Paradine states, "I have coached Rainey for three seasons and she has always been our key player; setting as a starter since Grade 10. She’s the hardest working player on and off the court who loves the sport of volleyball and plays every game like the finals and that’s why we depend on her for our success."

Rainey maintains an A average, while also participating in curling.
