Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

This Week's Urban High School Athlete of the Week is Anna Kernaghan of the Sturgeon Heights Huskies basketball team.

This 5'8" guard led the Huskies to the finals of the Glenlawn tip-off and Pembina Trails Tournaments. She was recognized as a tournament all-star at Glenlawn and MVP at the Pembina Trails. Through seven games this season, she is averaging 30 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals per game. Coach Evan Cox states, "She is an outstanding leader on the court and has helped propel the Huskies to back to back finals appearances and a 5 and 2 record this season."

In grade 12 she maintains a 90% academic average.
