Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Cali Yates of the Sanford Sabres basketball team.

Cali helped lead her team to a 3rd place finish at the Sanford Varsity Girls 16 Team AAA Tournament. In the third place game going into the 4th quarter with the Sabres down by 5, she hit five 3 point shots to help the Sabres go on a 20-4 run and the win. Coach Kelli Sinnock states, "Cali is an extremely hard worker who brings intensity, athleticism and skill to each game. She is a great teammate on and off the court". 

In grade 10 she maintains a 93% academic average, while also participating in cross country, volleyball, badminton, and track & field.
