Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Urban High School Athlete of the Week is Tressa McDonald of the R.D. Parker Trojans basketball team in Thompson.

McDonald led her Trojans to the Zone 11 Championships contributing 29 points in the final.  During the season she averaged 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals per game.  Coach Christine Sims states, "This squad relies heavily on Tressa's leadership, and calmness on the hardwood floor. Tressa demonstrates resilience and a never give up attitude which is everything a coach could ask for. When I first started working with Tressa, she was already an exceptional defender, moves her feet well and managed to get us lots of steals, she has worked hard to become more offensively inclined and it has paid off for her this season".

This grade 12 student will be attending U of W next year, where will be studying to become a chiropractor.
