Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Hunter Novak of the St. Paul's Barons badminton team in Elie.

He has had an exceptional season winning the boys singles at the Carman, Northlands Parkway, zone 4 regional qualifier, and Zone 4 Championship tournaments.   Along the way, he has compiled a perfect record having not lost a single set all season. Coach Shane Walker states, "Hunter displays intelligence on the court and is a very intuitive player.  He has a lot of poise and is able to stay calm in pressure situations.  He is a very dedicated player who works hard at practice to improve his game and is a model of good sportsmanship".

In grade 12 he is on the honour role maintaining a 90% average, while also competing in volleyball, basketball, and track & field.
