Megan Cyr, a graduate of Lord Selkirk Regional excelled in volleyball. During her time at Lord Selkirk, Megan received many awards for volleyball. She was a team All-Star, Provincial Championship MVP, voted the number 1 high school volleyball player in 2007, a Provincial Champion, Female Athlete of the Year, named to the Canadian junior national volleyball team and received the Mike Burchuk Award. She received a scholarship to the University of Colorado and a second scholarship to North Carolina State University. In the three seasons at N.C. State, she played every point in 96 matches and 357 sets. She had at least 1,000 assists in each of her three seasons and finished he career with 3,660 assists, which ranks third in the school’s history. In 2011 Megan was selected to the Canadian senior women’s national team where she played until 2018.

In her career with Team Canada she has competed in the FISU games (Russia), Pan Am Cup, two FIVB World Championships (Italy & Japan) as well as competing in the NORCECA Olympic qualifier and being named setter of the tournament for the NORCECA World Championship qualifier in 2017. She was a member of professional volleyball clubs in Austria, Germany, Greece, Italy and Switzerland, and won a bronze medal in the LNA league with Sagres NUC (Switzerland). Megan was a finalist for MHSAA Athlete of the Half Century in 2013.
