Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Kaiya Krahn of the St. Paul's Barons junior varsity volleyball team in Elie.

This left side hitter led the Barons to tournament victories at the Garden Valley and Warren tournaments, second at Portage and the semi-finals in Virden.  She leads her team in kill percentage, serving, and passing.  Athletic Director Craig Baron states, "Kaiya's play this season has been exceptional.  More than just a dominant hitter, she is a fantastic all-around player.  She displays a focus and intensity that is second to none.  Normally a quiet student, Kaiya is a vocal leader on the court and brings out the best in her teammates.  Kaiya has worked extremely hard at her game and only continues to get better.  She is a very impressive volleyball player."

In grade 9, she maintains a 91% average, while also competing in badminton and track & field.
