Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Urban High School Athlete of the week is Maltha Uwambajimana of the Fort Richmond Centurions basketball team.

She is averaging 19 points, 2.5 steals, and 6 rebounds per game and was selected an all-star at the Pembina Trails Classic and MVP of the Piper Classic.  Coach Deondra Twerdun-Peters states, She is an outstanding all-around athlete and has represented Fort Richmond Collegiate in a variety of sports over her last 3 years.  Most notably she is a stand out player and leader on our varsity girls basketball team.  Maltha is an integral part of our team and has overcome a torn ACL and rehab to return to the court in top form this season."

She maintains an 80% academic average across her courses and hopes to continue her basketball and academic career at the U Sport level next season.
