Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Urban High School Athlete of the Week is Daren Watts of the Miles Macdonell Buckeyes basketball team.

Watts is averaging 29 points per game with a season high of 42 points.  He led the Buckeyes to the finals of both the Buckeye Classic and W.I.T tournaments, where he was named an all-star, while also being a finalist in the W.I.T 3-point shooting competition.  Coach Jeff Shaddock states, "Daren is our leader in both practice and games, an integral part of our team success."

This grade 11 student maintains and 89% academic average.
