Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Urban High School Athlete of the Week is Lena Klassen of the Westgate Wings Cross Country team.

Lena recently lead the Wing's varsity girl's cross country team to two consecutive wins at SCAC meets. She finished first in both races, outpacing her nearest rival by more than a minute. Cross Country Coach Doug Durksen states, "Lena is a leader on the team, but not just in the standings. She supports and encourages teammates to do their best, and is a big part of making cross country at Westgate a good time."

This grade 11 honour role student maintains a 98% academic average.
