Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Millie Wright of the St. John's Ravenscourt Eagles hockey team.

The Eagles assistant captain has helped lead the team to a season record of 6 wins, 3 loses and 1 tie so far this season.  During those 10 games she has posted 3 goals and 8 assists.  In a recent 4-1 victory over the Portage Collegiate Saints, she figured in every goal registering 4 primary assists. Assistant Coach William Gardner states, "Millie centres the top line of the SJR Eagles' female high school hockey team.  She is used on the first power play, penalty kill, and overtime unit.  Great at face-offs, exhilarating speed, good stick handing and shooting abilities, she really shines as a two-way player."  

In grade 12 she maintains an academic average of 96%. In addition to her hockey prowess, she is a leader on the varsity basketball team and the captain of the SJR ultimate team.
