Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Willem Van Schie of the Glenboro Panthers basketball team.

Van Schie, the Panthers' captain, has led the Panthers to a 11-1 record to start the season and is 4-0 in Zone 6 league play.  He averages 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists per game. Coach Ryan Diehl states, "Will has a strong understanding of the game and is a valuable member off and on the court.  He also helps coach the Grade 7 and 8 basketball program."

In Grade 12 he maintains an 83% academic average, while also participating throughout the year on the volleyball, golf, and track & field teams.
