Manitoba's Credit Unions Scholar Athlete

Kalene Mangin of St. Claude School Complex: Kalene is a member of the Senior Volleyball, Badminton , and Track Teams. Her team captured the Provincial “A” Volleyball Championship this year, and she was selected as a Provincial All-Star, a Graduating All-Star and received numerous Volleyball awards. In Badminton she participated in Girls Doubles. Kalene maintains a 95% average and is on the school Honour Roll and has received many academic awards. She is her class representative on the Student Council, and Vice President of the Grad Committee. She volunteers for the St. Claude and HaywoodFall Supper, at the Notre Dame Hospital and at various community fundraisers. Kalene states, “I believe that sports have allowed me to become an active member of my school. I have become a role model for younger students by encouraging them to participate in school sports, as well as being an educator for them. I have also made new relationships while participating in athletics……. it has taught me to work as a team which is a very valuable skill to have and use throughout life.”
