Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Ryan Benson of the McCreary/Ste.Rose Mountaineers hockey team.

For the season Benson has led his team to a record of 16 wins, 10 loses and 2 overtime loses. During those 28 games he has 40 goals, 28 assists, for 68 points. Coach Greg Anstett states, "Ryan recently had an excellent week for the Mountaineers, leading the team to a record of 2-1. He had 8 goals and 13 assists over that week, including back to back hat tricks. Ryan was also named an all star earlier this year at the Provincial "A" Volleyball Championship."

In grade 12 he maintains an 84% academic average, while also participating in volleyball, basketball, and baseball throughout the year.
