Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Russell Outhwaite of Killarney School

He is captain of the Killarney/Wawanesa Raiders hockey team that finished 1st in the regular season play in the Westman High School Hockey League and enter the Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Provincial AA Hockey Championships as the #1 seed. He has 8 goals and 25 assists in 30 games. He also led the Raiders basketball team to the zone 9 Championship and a spot at the Provincial AA Basketball Championships.  Athletic Director Terrill Outhwaite states, "In hockey he is more than a point-per-game defenseman with strong physical play and excellent leadership qualities.  He co-captains the basketball team and leads the team in rebounding and scoring average on the season."

In grade 12 he maintains an academic average of 91%, while also competing through the year in golf, football, badminton, baseball, and track & field.
