Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Serenity Poirier of the Lac Du Bonnet badminton team. 

This season Poirier won the Zone 13 Championship and Provincial High School Championships in Varsity Girls Singles.  She bookended her high school badminton career with a JV Girls Singles Championship in 2019 and now a Varsity Girls Singles championship in 2022. Coach Paul Poirier states, "She is a dedicated athlete who works hard at the sport she loves, that being badminton. She has the goal of making Team Manitoba for the Canada Winter Games in PEI for 2023. She is a great ambassador of the game on top of her on court ability. She is always enthusiastic about socializing with and guiding all players in the badminton community".

This grade 12 student is an Honour Role student maintaining an academic average of over 90%.
