Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Daylon Creasy of the Carberry Cougars baseball team, is this week’s Tri-Star Rural High School athlete of the week. This 6'2" short stop/pitcher led the Cougars to its first Zone 7 Baseball Championship. This spring in 6 appearances he has a 4-0 record with 1 save. He surrendered only 3 runs, walked 5 batters and has a total of 42 strikeouts. Offensively he contributed with a .577 average, on base percentage over .700, and led the team in RBI's with 14. Coach Ryan Robson states, "Daylon's our ace, he is definitely our go to guy on the mound. He is a quiet leader who can rally the team with just a few words and often changes a game or gets the team out of a jam with a big play in the field or a solid at bat". This grade 12 student maintains an 70% average, while also participating in volleyball and basketball.
