Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Connor Martin from Wawanesa School. 

Martin was an instrumental part of the success of the Boissevain/Wawanesa Broncos baseball team this season.  He threw a perfect game in the Zone 9 Finals striking out 9 batters in a 5 inning 10-0 win.  He followed that up at provincials by throwing a complete game in the quarter finals giving up 1 run on 3 hits and striking out 17 of the 21 outs recorded against Birtle/Shoal Lake/Strathclair. During the Provincial Championship he also had a homerun and 2 doubles while batting .350 and was named a Provincial All-star for his performance on the weekend.  Athletic Director Michael Reykdal states, "Connor is a great example of a student athlete always putting his academics first and sports second. Connor played volleyball, hockey, badminton and baseball this year competing at the provincials in all 4 sports".

This grade 10 student maintains a 90% academic average
